Although he's among the most important Theologians of his time, little information is known of him. He was probably born in Northern Italy in Lumellogno in Navarre at around 1100 He attended Bologna possibly Vercelli, France to research first in Reins and then in Paris. He was then chosen bishop of Paris in 1159; he shortly died a year afterwards. Peter was an Italian theologian and bishop of Paris, his Four Books of Sentences became the Key theological handbook of the Middle Ages. He had been a student at Paris, where he was the pupil of this French philosopher Peter Abelard. Lombard was a teacher of theology at the faculty of Notre Dame and Paris, from 1136 to 1150. The renowned twelfth century theologian, Peter Lombard, composed four novels of which are the only novels that attribute to him which are deemed authentic. Peter LombardвЂ™s setting and context of his time was alive through and throughout the renaissance of the 12 century that included the crusades.
