Analysis of Denise Levertov's A Period History In Denise Levertov's composition, " A right time," she concentrates on an inanimate object that reminds her of a previous like and her many emotions about their romantic relationship and its termination. In addition, she comments on other special people in her life and occasions she spent with them. Levertov appears to share her very personal and real feelings in this poem. It is not totally clear whether or not she is reflecting on her life with her former husband, Mitchell Goodman, in the poem but it is very possible. Goodman was "arraigned with various other significant people for 'conspiracy theory'" during the Vietnam Battle (1110). The two may possess divorced after this occurrence or actually before it shortly. Since Levertov wrote this poem in 1975, this correct period body would become constant. Throughout the poem, Levertov reflects on what the object, the old wooden steps, mean to her and remind her about.
