Elie Wiesel wrote "Night" as a memoir, in his perspective dwelling for a kid from the holocaust. After reading this work, I felt like I can see everything through his eyes, like a kid. There are lots of psychoanalytical approaches in this novel could be seen, particularly looking at how Wiesel came about writing this type of significant book after ten years of silence. Whenever I read a novel, I attempt to read it like I am the author, looking within a last copy. That's the way I believe literature should be read, through the lenses of the writer and when studying, you must consider the author's memories, and ideas while writing. The writer wrote this book after having itself inflected ten-year oath of silence, not to talk of his adventures in the holocaust along with his family again. This may have been from the idea, "Rather than an attenuation with growing temporal distance in the event, we've seen an increase in memory actions during the last two decades" (Assmann, 262). Something changed in him , as an adult rather than a child and that change is an important thing to incorporate in thinking when studying Night. Since this book is written in the first person, as himself as a fifteen year old boy, that is how I read it, as a kid. There's been a lot of research on children development regarding their psychological manors. One psychoanalytical critic is Sigmund Freud and his structural design of the psyche. After reading and comprehending that his model of the growth of children's sense of self, I noticed an effect on Elie's narrative from different stages in his life.
