This essay will establish the link between Modernism in America and one Frank Lloyd Wright. Discussing how his work within architecture influenced the movement further into the twenty first century, looking closely at a few of his well known buildings and those buildings which began off Frank Lloyd Wrights architecture motion throughout America. American Modernism was founded on the modernist movements of architecture and design throughout the 20th century in Europe. The Bauhaus; arising out of Germany 1919 is the combination of fine art and art, and Art Deco movements; distinguished geometric shapes and bold colours within architecture and household objects, are amongst the different aspects that changed design. Some say it's a tendency of having the ability to improve, reshape and create things through scientific technology and knowledge and also experimentation with scientific features. The motion of American Modernism has been at its peak between the first world war and the second world war during the 20th century continued to the 21st century. One designer which has been a massive influence to the Modernist movement was Frank Lloyd Wright. Frank Lloyd Wright; born just after the American Civil war finished (1867-1959) in the event deeply known as one of the finest 20th Century architects. Frank Lloyd Wright was viewed as one of a few designers that adopted the new movement of the Industrial revolution and 'promptly initiated his own architectural revolution’ (www.franklloydwright.org).
