Today's media is playing a huge role in the lives of normal women and the manner that they think about themselves and the way they should look. This portrayal of unattainable beauty has effect women and young teenager girls the many. The number one desire for girls ages 11 to 17 is to be much skinnier, and girls as young as five have expressed fears of becoming fat (Tiggemann, 1996). The medias use of ultra slim and stunning versions are leading to eating disorders and depression and other psychological disorders in girls. Robin Gerber who is a motivational speaker and writer says "We do not need Afghan style burquas to disappear as girls. We evaporate in reverse-by revamping and showing our bodies to meet externally imposed visions of feminine beauty". The press is endangering the health of the female people before understanding it. Women and adolescent females look at the mirror everyday and watch something that they're unhappy with. Kevin Thompson, they concur that exposure to perfect images highly lead to eating disorders, on account of the fact that young women strive to attain the ideal body shape (Cusumano, Thompson). In reality, the current fashion models, compared to eight percent gap 20 decades ago, weigh 23 percent less than the typical female, and a young girl between the ages of 18-34 has a seven percent chance of being as slender as a catwalk model along with a one percent chance of becoming as thin as a supermodel (Tiggemann, 2000).
