Internet censorship and surveillance are increasing internationally and it impacts us regardless of the truth that as United States citizens we've got more internet independence than lots of nations, but if these nations depict us as something we are not through censorship it leads to a lack of understanding between nations and with misunderstanding comes despise. Whether you believe it or not there are several citizens of nations around the world that hate us simply because they don't know us. The internet is an excellent tool to increase understanding around the world. As Americans we have been taught to be respectful with all our postings on the internet. Do all Americans follow suit within their action on the web? Certainly not, there's evil lurking on the internet and some of this comes directly from the taxpayers of the United States. As stated by the 39th Edition of Social Problems there are more than 1000 practicing hate groups in the United States alone (Finsterbusch 183). Many of these classes have sites they use to spread their hatred and the ones that believe in government controlled censorship and surveillance use these hate mongers as one example for why it's required. These groups don't represent the average United States citizen; despise definitely doesn't represent my views. Even so, so long as these hate groups do not violate the laws of the United States; our government will not take these sites down. Some felt a necessity to change this there's been new legislation voted by the House of Representatives called CISPA. CISPA stands for Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act.
