After closer analysis of this Sutra for Long Life and the World Universe as a Sutra it seems clear that, although Mahayana Buddhism relies upon the teachings of their traditional Pali Canon, it puts a larger emphasizes on philosophical inquires; although still managing to create a more available Buddhism for everybody. In their own way both Sutras emphasize the fact that Mahayana Buddhism is more lay people friendly compared to the conventional Pali Canon, although still keeping an important role for monks and nuns. Maybe the most apparent illustration of this is presented from the "Whole Universe Sutra". According to the Sutra, all beings have the wisdom and enlightenment of Buddhahood within themselves. This pure core is simply buried under or wrapped in the deluded minds of the imperfect being (107-World). To put it differently, every being is effective at reaching Buddhahood because the truth resides within every individual, but it may only be attained once "they abandon their own deluded, contrary viewpoints". It is only then that the "unimpeded knowledge" will appear within them (107,108-World). The sutras also make sure that the idea of the Bodhisattva, those who have attained awakening and refrain from entering Nirvana in order to help others along the road. For example, the Tathāgata is called an individual with "penetrating wisdom, and was endowed with a totally pure celestial eye" (109). The Tathāgata has already found the knowledge and truth inside him and is now also able to determine that the same wisdom exists within every being. He finds it odd that every being maynot find the truth within, and for that reason, takes it on himself to "teach these beings so that they may fully wake up within the Noble path" (109-world).
