The assault on the World Trade Center in 1993, and the next attack in 2001 are the instances of terrorism I have chosen to concentrate on because I feel that they're extremely important. Both attacks occurred during my lifetime, making them more personal, and also happened in the city where I was born. Both of these attacks are examples of terrorism because both attacks were violent and intimidating crimes that also had political motives. At first glance, the two occasions seem quite similar since they shared a target. Additionally, in both situations the terrorists had intended to reach other targets too, that ended up not being changed or discounted as planned. Additionally, according to Cline, “Both were conducted and planned with men of Middle Eastern descent intent on revenge against the U.S. and Israel's military action at the region” (Cline, 2013). In spite of the fact that both circumstances share many similarities, they also have many differences. The first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 was less catastrophic that the attacks on September 11th, 2001. In the first attack, fewer people died and the strategy wasn't as successful as the next attack. Additionally, the first attacked used a vehicle with a bomb, whereas the next attack used unmanned airplanes. Although people recall 9/11 for the attack on the twin towers, other essential buildings were hit as well, whereas in 1993 the sole target that was struck successfully was the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
