Motivation theories are helpful tools that organizations can use to energize workers and foster a stimulating work environment. These theories are categorized as either content or process concepts. Today, Bauer and Erdogen (2009) state that lots of organizations have applied motivation concepts,like the goal setting theory and reinforcement theory, so as to alter their workers' behavior in the workplace through targets and reward systems. As stated by the reinforcement concept, behaviour that's rewarded is frequently repeated. Consequently, several organizations have utilized this theory by tying rewards to performance (Bauer & Erdogen 2009). The target setting theory which is used to improve performance through establishing objectives has been integrated into daily practices by organizations like Coca Cola, the Intel Corporation, and Microsoft Corporation. Effective goals motivate employees since they give direction, energize people, supply challenges, and allow people to think outside the box.
