Understanding Child Development through Observation

Introduction: Background

For observing and evaluating the kid development, an internet site is accessed where a nursery video is obtainable and in the training video the child that I chose to see is a four season old woman that I'll refer to as Amani. She is highly wise and assured child; not only has this she experienced outstanding skills to socially move around independently. I watch Amani in the school classroom; play area and garden area where she's been involved in different activity. This observation has been conducted between 9. 23am until 11. 09am of all her activities. The objective of this observation is to help make the progressive note of the child's physical, intellectual, mental, linguistic and cultural development. In the next section there exists description of observation and followed by the analysis and child's account.

Observation Description

Amani stands close to table which there are name tags of students, she leans to pick her name's label with just a little hesitance and picks the label and pastes it on the name panel. During the time she's smile on her face and appears happy with this activity. Down the road she actually is in her class room relaxing on floor along with her all classmates, she is smiling and has her eyes on her professor, and paying attention to what teacher says intently. She is constantly smiling and moving her body in swinging way. Now, teacher is performing a poem 'Mary' and Amani is performing combined with the teacher and constantly smiling with pleasure. Tutor is reading the students story about growing blossom plants, teacher speaks of blossom planting, that 'there are some seeds and Maule! You are going to plant them and they'll expand into a beautifulbloom' Amani says 'rose' with the professor. Educator says 'Maule! What do you feel that seeds are going to need dirt and Amani cheerfully speaks water normal water making herself to be listened to.

Teacher says that you can go and play and Amani raises her side cheerfully turns back and forth to her classmates and she strolls around touching the different objects, she actually is in painting area and takes out a color out of jar and write her name with write hand, she put down inexperienced color and picks another marker. She gets up and strolls to garden backyard, wears her apron ties the laces and ribbons. She actually is standing by a sizable soil container from where other children are getting the soil; she's a soil container and attempts to receive the soil from one of a kid standing meticulously. Second boy ranking next to her has two scoops she attempts to snatch the main one because other youngster is not enabling her have ground scoop. She snatches a scoop off of the guy and cheerfully put some soil into the pot and says 'put some earth and it will make garden soil' she picks a scoop and presses the ground inside the container and says 'I am gonna show my dirt' and rests next to her tutor, she attempts to take wax dough and laughs when her professor won't give her the wax dough, tutor parts the dough and provides her one half of the dough she smells it pleasingly and kneads it with her hands. Instructor says to her 'how should it feel?' she says 'good'. Professor says 'how would it feel just like?' she says 'very soft' and cheerfully shifts the dough from side to another. She says 'where is the stick to put it?' and leaned frontward to get the main one and crushes an thing on the table, the tutor exclaimed 'Oops!' anticipated sudden movements of Amani, she says she needs sticks and she contain the stick plate and put that close to her and picks the sticks one by one and put them in dough. Tutor says 'you could sing a melody?' she says 'yes' and strolls to your garden accompanied her educator after finishing the wax dough, she places the dough close to flower pots and waters the plant life by using water bathtub. Now she actually is sitting in your garden party desk and keeping a spoon with dish and pretending to be eating with them. She gets up and leans forwards to get another spoon and uses the spoon for picking 'glucose' from the container and pours into a tea glass and picks another pot, a milk pot and pour it into tea cup to make tea. She again pretends to be eating and her tutor says 'can you please make me a cup of tea, Maule!?' she says with a smile 'yes', and puts sugars in the cup pleasingly, professor says again 'what are you adding?' she says with a smile 'I am putting sugars', and pretends to add more sweets into cup with spoon. She actually is on your garden party table and eating with spoon and taking in and says 'I have made it' and get off the seat. Now she is in the course and position next to her instructor who is relaxing and singing a poem to children sitting down on to the floor. She sings the poem 'Mary' with her tutor and classmates.

The sensing and strategy formation of Amani is observed in play area where she makes pudding with wax dough, where she is asked about the wax and she responds effectively of the question that wax is delicate and it shows great understanding and conceptualization of the girl. She seems to show good ram like sweets is added in tea as well as how to use the eating items. Her understanding and identification of items and colors is astonishing; she appears to identify between a light hue of green and vice versa. Since children learn words and other things by asking questions such as 'what, where, why', there has been lack of requesting questions by Amani, and she intends to respond to the questions alternatively.

Emotional Development

Emotionally Amani is seen to be unbiased as she is able to walk around readily without any hesitation. Moreover, there is no hesitation or difficulty in her expression. She is expressive and proficient at expressing herself. However, she shows little insufficient control over her feelings like when she is in her play area to flower a seed in ground she snatched the scoop from her classmate who won't hands her that scoop, though there is not any strong situation yet she appears little uncontrollable of her emotions. Besides, she shows a good emotional balance towards her classmates, she appears to show warm towards her classmate. Cosmetic expression is discovered as maturely because she intends to smile on a regular basis whenever she is amused showing her pleasure. She is constantly on the responds the tutor apparently pleasantly and in expressive way. She seems to show good connections with others but little immediate eye contact is noticed. The entire body activity and body posture is merely frequently without any hesitancy and normally productive and responsive. Modulation of voice and play frame of mind is detected as interactive and sociable involvement. There exists such as no sudden change in tendencies or language tone.

Linguistic Development

Since, a child of three or four 4 year is capable of longing of his/her convert and in normal situation can promote and cooperate with fellows (Kail, 2007) therefore it was a little surprising aspect of her because she appears to behave normally so far in other development. Furthermore, social roles and social behavior like learning correctly and react to other is witnessed normally. However, she appears to enjoy being in class room with other classmates and enjoy the interpersonal appearance. In regard to other social skills like dressing and active with no help and doing different activities she is noticed doing them independently. She seems to show a parallel sociable playing habit like playing along with however, not with another child, not very much interacting and speaking with other children in her different activities. She's been observed as cooperative and with high self-esteem- valuing herself as a person and confident. She rather seems to appear a self-reliance person in public development point of view.

Child Profile

I observed the child thoroughly and evaluated her literally, intellectually, emotionally, linguistically, and socially. The entire development of Amani is observed to be normal and healthy. She's shown normal tendency in all degree of development including physical, intellectual, mental, linguistic and social. However, physical development means doing motion either gross or large movement of limbs or fine manipulative movements of fingers (Grych & Fincham, 2001). Amani is found to own large movement of her body and her finger by using pencils and writing. Because physical development mainly depends on the body progress and nervous system that transmits message from the mind to body it shows the muscles to motivate them to go. There is excellent relevance of physical development with intellectual development, because if a kid physically unfit or shows problems like little movements, hesitation, and inactive, each one of these symptoms show inefficient intellectual development of child. Amani has been noticed as physically effective and reactive her intellectual and mental capacity can be assessed as normal and regular. The intellectual development of Amani is found to be emotionally energetic and interactive along with reasoning head. She appears to understand the environment, the teachings taught in the school room and questions asked; she seems to answer them intellectually. She is very attentive and concentrated female along with capacity to reply the exterior environment. She has good imagining, creative ability and problem handling attitude. Moreover, she possesses an ability to work with conceptualization of her truth and creativity. Psychologically she is a sensible child with self-employed attitude; she's got normal body position, eye contact, vocabulary firmness and unchanged action. Moreover, her body language and facial expressions are even and warm towards other mates. In linguistic development I witnessed that she's ability to make use of language expressing her and there is fluency in the form of her terms. Socially she is active, healthy and inter-active child, she actually is warmly and positive towards interacting towards her mates. She has good learning skills as a sociable roles and sociable habit like learning in an organization appropriately. She is socially indie and warm and communicative and reactive. She is expressive, interpersonal, cooperative and sharing the things. She has got exceptional cognitive skills and memory power. Different cultural pursuits like eating, moving in group and responding; they are those abilities which are extraordinary induced in her. Common child top features of requesting questions about things that they don't know or don't realize, in Amani's circumstance it are bit different in the way that she will not requesting question but responding to the question rather.
