This paper explores the factors associated with success in the teaching field regardless of the environment. The information will be based upon the interview of current teacher Jane Satrom and her experience of a variety of adversities as a long time educator including attending specialist learning community (PLC) and department planning period (DPP) meetings. Her responses to varied questions are compared to created advice for success in the college textbook Peak Performance: Accomplishment in College and Beyond in order to validate which abilities and strategies are necessary in order to succeed. Main themes reviewed are self-control, motivation, period management, and goal setting because used to achieve the class. Jane Satrom is the best representation of a successful person in the instructing field and truly a good person period. She has were able to combine four very important skills and utilize them in her career of over 20 years. She uses her positive attitude, large number of self-control, impressive time-management skills, and selflessness to further improve each year both equally as a person and as a teacher. Due to these qualities it is obvious that anyone looking to achieve success in education should follow in Mrs. Satrom's actions and aspire to be as great of the educator.
