The book Gym Candy by Carl deuker is approximately a boy called Mike Johnson who struggles with endeavoring to make his dad proud of him by participating in basketball and being the best on the team. Mike soon thinks that the only way to become stronger is by steroids. This notion originated from his fitness expert Peter Volz. This eventually causes mike utilizing it and makes him addicted leading to one very interesting story.
The Protagonist of the novel is Mick Johnson. Micks dad Mike used to be a professional football player and since mick was little his father would always go outside and play soccer with him which is exactly what made mick fall season in love with football. Micks dad even made him stay back annually from kindergarten to make him bigger than all the other kids when he started to play pop warner (Soccer for people from 8-14, 15). Mick always deemed his father as being a legend and being the best football player and he would always ask his father mike why he wasn't participating in football anymore his daddy said that he acquired an extremely bad ankle joint sprain and that he could no more play and was put on the reserve bench until finally he got kicked from the team for not having the ability to play. Mick commences to change first his his old Pop Warner mentor leaves and a new trainer from oregan point out which is a collage. Mick's new instructor treats him badly because his daddy made him look bad and stuffed him out in the end area and it was around ESPN. The instructor kept discussing his daddy This Made Mick want to give up. The Mentor also said "Mick you are going to increase up like your daddy a good sportsman but a punk when you aren't playing the game of football". This made mick think about why he said that about his father his daddy never said anything about him being a poor sport when he's not participating in Sports. Mick gets home and would go to check the computer and understand why the coach experienced said this so he continues on the internet and queries his father's name he locates that his dad missed meetings, experienced bar fights, got into arguments with the mentors, got in trouble with a dancer on the island, And even argued with all his teammates. The team his father performed for the chargers acquired sick of it and kicked him off the team
The author could keep me interested because he never made the storyplot confusing and he didn't increase many characters. The reason why I don't like too many personas is basically because it confuses me when they try to increase many individuals that don't really do anything to have an impact on the story. One arena that kept my interest is the one where mick got off of the steroids because he thought he didn't need it ever again. I thought the booklet was over and was pondering why he there have been so many more pages and why he ended the story so plainly and I placed reading to figure out what was kept in the storyplot and I later discovered that he detects a freshmen beating him at soccer so he goes back to Peter to become better still at sports so that he can't be beaten which gets my attention even more.
One of the best scenes in Health club Chocolate is when Mick tried to capture himself in the top. This scene stands out because it shows how Mick feels about the issues that he had experienced throughout the Book especially taking steroids. I sensed like I got there since it was like the closing of a movie and it was an immediate event that attracts you in to see what happens next. When Mick pulled the result in his palm twitches which threw off his aim to where the bullet type of grazed the very best of his mind and he falls unconscious so his friend Drew got him to a healthcare facility. Another arena is when Mick is jogging to obtain the touchdown in the last 1 / 4 and he falls 12 inches away from the touchdown. Personally i think like in that scene mick came to the realization how much more he needs to train and how much of that might be easier with steroids.
I found that even if you desire to be the best. You will have to know that drugs are not the way because it can damage your reputation and your life. Even if you think everything can be done with drugs it isn't because anywhere someone will always be better then you and the only thing you can certainly do is work harder and harder. Resorting to drugs doesn't make you cool or strong it certainly makes you ridiculous and it can hurt you a whole lot. I would recommend by using for students in the future it helps people know how steroids can completely mess up your life and your dreams.
