"The Garden Lodge" by Willa Cather Article

Cather's "The Garden Lodge" is about a female named Caroline Noble in whose husband, Howard, asked her if she would like to demolish their outdated garden villa and replace it with a summer season house. The conflict inside the story is usually Caroline is usually not sure if perhaps she really wants to knock down the old garden lodge as it brings back recollections of when opera vocalist Raymond d'Esquerre, spent per month at their particular place. The resolution is the fact Caroline decides to go on with building the summertime house and demolishing your garden lodge. The writer uses flashback to explain just how Caroline grew up and also when ever she reminiscences about her time with Raymond.
