Socrates claimed that virtue is knowledge. He recognizes that two terms as being indistinguishable (Reshotko, 2006). Virtue is knowledge and knowledge is virtue. You will discover two claims which help make sense on the lay claim of Socrates that knowledge is virtue. They are those which relate with the understanding of what's good and how it gives people benefit, and what is evil and how creates injury to people. The default perception of men and women is to always go for whatever they believe will give them an edge and not cause any damage. It is therefore not knowledge alone but that which is understanding of the nice. Knowledge is therefore necessary for one to be able to live their lives in virtue.
Humans have the freedom to do whatever they want. It is show the extent a person needs control of his life, makes decisions of his own and lives his life in any manner he would like to. The presence of freedom offers one also the freedom to choose which he bases on his thoughts. Whenever we have the data of things and knowing of the things all around us, we can choose whatever we think is right or good for us. Knowledge offers us the flexibility to choose which is right and wrong, which is good and bad. And by this knowledge and the exercise of the freedoms, we choose those which are good and beneficial, supplying us lives surviving in virtue.
An examination of things that benefit humans are given in the talk; and these exact things are health, strength, beauty and prosperity. These are the things that humans consider as beneficial, yet such is not total since they are also things that could harm humans. They are really seen as good if it leads to happiness and considered bad if it leads to damage (Reshotko, 2006). They are different types of human activities since most peoples lives are trapped in things which may have little if any importance to those that are of extreme importance. These activities are viewed in another way from visitors to people. Same way as these experience are considered bad or good. Say for example, you taste espresso. We feel the fun there but such is not prolonged and could only be for a couple of seconds or minutes. However pleasurable such a flavor or experience may be, it is in no way a significant part of each persons lives. Something that is valuable for just a few minutes is not actually valuable and does not deserve serious matter.
There are qualities of the soul and these are moderation, justice, courage, brains, memory, munificence, and all such things. Humans think and work toward things that they deem are best for them. Religious beliefs as a specific part of humans lives can be quite influential in providing people who have what is right and wrong and also with a graphic of how they view themselves yet others. The fact of one being virtuous originates from the actual fact of knowing something as being good or bad. Knowledge of someone in choosing what is right or wrong, bad or good necessarily arises from the fact also that you are living a life that is virtuous.
Many types of moving into virtuous status could get. These virtuous occasions are all anchored on beauty or witnessing something good in what they do. The painter who paints something beautiful lives in the eternity of that beauty in his painting. The scientist who devotes his life to locating so this means in things lives in the eternity of this meaning. The mother who provides herself to care for her family with love can be an illustration where that is what is perceived as good and therefore choice to do that comes from that knowledge. We admire heroes, for example, and all those who have resided their lives in high ideals. We sense indicating in the lives of these people. This implies that to desire beautiful things is to desire good things (Denise, et al, 2007). It is true that we now have some people also who desire bad things. The reason why may be because they imagine such are good stuff or the reason could be because they really want might be found to be good even if they are aware they are not. But those who desire good things have never lived for the sake of satisfactions and pleasures which are in transferring only nevertheless they have lost themselves in principles, living in virtue through knowledge, which will always be appreciated forever.
Society provides man with a terms and ways of expressing oneself and it is in terms of that vocabulary that man is able to communicate and assert his ideals, needs and ideals. Through this, we can easily see whether a person is living life in virtue or not. We can not explore his unconscious and what he believes, but such is acted out into actuality with what we see. If we see someone is virtuous, such therefore originates from knowledge of what's good and what's bad. But the argument is never to the extent that it is all knowledge that is necessary for you to have virtue. Sensible knowledge is being referred to in this case. As Socrates put it, to know the nice is to know how to have well, how to bring it about that ones spirit properly looked after (Denise, et al, 2007). Knowledge is necessary but not what's all important. Thus, as Socrates appropriately argued, knowledge is virtue and virtue is knowledge. They co-exist and be based upon each other. You are not what it is if not for the other. Knowledge comes from the fact of being virtuous. Virtue arises from the actual fact of knowing what is good and evil
