Are people delivered with management skills and management characteristics? Or is this something an individual develops with experience? They are some questions that contain often troubled me throughout the latter part of my undergraduate level, a confused stage in my life, where I got in a fix deciding easily should follow my Masters in general management or gain working experience. My children and peers were instrumental in giving me the required encouragement in directing me towards my job goals. Despite the fact that I wasn`t able materialize onto it right after graduation, I somehow believed that a reasonable amount of commercial exposure would teach me the skills and present me the useful knowledge, I needed to tread the road of an entrepreneur.

Building up on my academic backdrop, I've completed my Bachelors in Arts & Communication from Christ School, India where I specialised in Journalism, Mindset and Optional English. Being one of the top ranked universities in India, I not only received a solid academic foundation but also a program to build up myself holistically. Immediately after my graduation I used my first job at Aviva (UK`S largest insurance company) outsourced to Bangalore. To start with I was offered the role of a Electric motor Insurance Sales/Customer Service Consultant. This environment provided me a hands-on experience in getting together with customers in the united kingdom, advertising insurance products & services tailor made to the client needs with a high degree of customer experience.

Thus a strong blend between functional knowledge, behavioural habits at the job and learning on management things, would help me set up my very own business someday and turn my wish into simple fact.

Reflection on Action:

Through my interactions with people who have completed an MBA and business owners who have made their vision a reality, I've learned that Management is an ocean that can't be crossed in a year or on completion of the program. It really is a constant learning process through various activities we encounter on the daily basis, how we deal with situations and how exactly we counter problems. We are expected to refer multiple books, publications, article etc. from libraries or electronic databases. Moreover, we are marked on assessments and presentations which is way different to the Indian system. This difference would require myself to quickly change my method of preparation and learning.

Secondly I have a bit more than five many years of work experience. Getting back again to academics after a long break appears to be the biggest concern I`m currently confronted with. I haven't done any reading, other than the newspaper, in the last couple of years. Thus lack of concentration and emphasis, could possibly lead to insufficient preparation, leading to assignments being undone until the very last second. My time management skill is not at all something I can boast of. I often see myself putting forward things to in the future or before very end. Instead of reading on related subject areas pertaining to assignments, I`d probably be involved in communal networking sites or music/movie sites on the internet. With regards to writing my assignment or reading, I quickly lose interest and discover it difficult to spark that inspiration again.

I need to boost my understanding on the Harvard system of referencing, because problems of not referencing or citing correctly could bring about unintentional plagiarism. Despite the fact that I am a self-assured communicator, however Personally i think that sometimes I can present in a much more effective manner. Wider reading could broaden knowledge about them and improve vocabulary. Besides development and practice in PowerPoint and excel could improvise the effectiveness of presentation. This will give a know-how to balance aspects of presentation by keeping it sharp to the timelines, yet have a enduring effect on an audience, and much more consistently.

In the past, at school, I would just read or memorize specific issues for the sake of examinations and credit score good levels. Here it was more of theoretical and specific learning that was used.
