Disaster comes anytime. It chooses virtually no time, no place, and people involved. It could sometimes be caused by varying reasons. Whether it be due to the natural phenomenon, the weather, but the majority of the time, our activities and negligence are accounted for the disastrous situations that we encounter in our lives. These situations usually come unannounced bringing on more grief and sorrow whenever something damaging had happened that wiped out the lives of many. Whenever these situations come, emergency nurses are always the main one accountable in responding and giving help those affected. They are the ones who are called upon during these types of situations. Emergency medical is the field these nurses chose to pursue. This field of medical is one of the very most unpopular but is considered very essential part of medical. Saving lives starts here. Rescuing people from the disaster they have got been through requires immediate response from the rescuers since emergency situations are life-threatening and could require immediate interventions to help lessen the aggravation of the issues caused.

Emergency medical may be categorized into several types. First is the medical emergency where pathological conditions are included. These are the kinds of disaster where medical assistance, usually hospital treatment, must be given immediately. Second is the natural disaster including tornado, flashfloods, hurricane, and mud slides. They are the ones that require recovery from government firms for supportive interventions. Third, and the final crisis situation is the property- disaster (e. g fire).

Property disaster such as flame are considered by almost all of the agencies to be the least main concern since it gets the lowest risk in working with it. But needless to say, every single emergency is still a crisis and must be went to immediately to conserve lives.

BACKGROUND OF THIS STUDY

According to Debbie et. al (2006), Ages ago, nursing practice was unlike today - organized and incredibly professional. However in observation, nurses have long been around even before Florence Nightingale came into the spotlight. In fact, nurses have existed because the time humans looked after others. The knowledge and experience might not exactly be as broad as today but people have been nursing others in need knowingly or otherwise in times of devastation. Simple things such as showing food and supplying shelter to the homeless are ways showing that people "care and attention. "

During wars, nurses have been fighting alongside troops with injured comrades participating to each and every one of them. In those days, Florence Nightingale surfaced like a superhero assembling 38 volunteer nurses to care for wounded soldiers during the Crimean War. With the help, death rate has reduced, so did instances of infection. And many of those put in place protocols became visible health care models down the road. Reed (2010)

Many of the advancements in Injuries and Disaster services were first pioneered in England and Germany. The United States (US) also started to promote the importance of A&E services, especially following the Second World Warfare. Dating back to the 1960s, it was became aware that the role of A&E nurses was noticeably not the same as that of other nurses. The need of providing these nurses with more specialized training had been understood. As nurse training upgraded noticeably through the 1970s, the development of branch medical was formed. In the US, EDNA - the Crisis Department Nurses Connection - was founded by a group of nurses to help the medical world discover their specialist needs. In 1985, the group transformed its name to ENA - Emergency Nurses Relationship. In 1972, the British Royal College of Nursing separated accident medical and emergency medical groupings. . In 1990, these two separate groups mixed under the name "Accident & Emergency Nursing Association", enabling the group to determine a professional specialist to standardize training opportunities in disaster nursing care and attention. Later, trends within the nursing profession resulted in the jobs and tasks of emergency medical being regarded as a particular branch of nursing, which is dependant on an considerable and specific set of skills and knowledge. Selimen et. al(2009)

One of the key success stories of emergency nursing and another major celebration milestone should be the introduction of emergency medical groups. Since the early seventies many countries have developed national organizations, spreading the term and professionalism and reliability of crisis nurses. Giving an answer to emergencies is far more than focusing on how to recognize the signs or symptoms of traumatic injury or contact with unsafe chemicals. Effective response takes a disciplined team in which each participating person practices clear lines of communication and performs according to plainly assigned role directions.
