In this week's module five on the public's desire for fictional and real serial killers a lot of interesting information was given. Around we don't like the fact that folks destroy people out of random acts as well as for no reason, we can not just turn a blind vision to it. These killings weather we like to acknowledge it or not draw us in and we want to understand how it happen and the facts of the crime that was determined. This infatuation isn't only for just one reason but also for numerous reasons with regards to the type of person someone is.
One of the reason why a person might be infatuated with a serial killer is because of the interest of the offense in the way that the criminal offenses that was committed was so uncommon that it invokes a greater interest then that of a random getting rid of (Bonn, Scott), or a getting rid of that has been done before. Another reason is that some killers kill at random and don't know their victims this it just like a shark attack to people and makes them feel hat anyone can be a aim for. Another reason is that whenever some killers get rid of their interior demons come out (Bonn, Scott) and in a great rage and push it is this rage that pulls people to try and comprehend their attitude and make an effort to understand it.
When it comes to the monsters portrayed in movies it especially takes on on the sensation and emotions of people and this is the reason why we could so attracted to it. It pulls us in by participating in on our emotions of dread and anger (Bonn, Scott). There is a fine brand between those individuals that have a pastime in the fictional heroes that are played out in films that are killers versus those that are genuine serial killers. Those which may have a high interest in fictional killers don't recognize those that are real killers. This to me might be because the crimes committed in the movies haven't occurred in true to life but the proven fact that the scenarios in the movie could took place and bring upon feelings of dread that means it is interesting and an infatuation occur.
There are some individuals that have absent up to now with the infatuation for a genuine life serial killer that have written them in jail and build a camaraderie with them because they're obsessed with the offences they does and their mind set (Connection, Michael). For these people their infatuation has taken these to an extreme. It is because they have a want to be like them or perhaps understand them and have brought their dream into reality to access know them on a personal level.
The media is a high influencer of these infatuations and this is basically because when these sorts of crimes they are highly required in the news and that because they're integrating and so far as the media can be involved accumulates their ratings. Police and the marketing in ways bump heads which is because when a crime occurs and the mass media catches wind of it they report onto it plus they use some facts of the cast plus they exaggerate and make their own assumptions about the crime that happen (Morton, Robert). This helps it be especially hard for law enforcement with a continuing investigation since when they make false claims to the public it evokes dread in people (Morton, Robert) and they are looking for the individual that did these and anybody that they feel is the killer due to false facts of the advertising is reported on making law enforcement follow incorrect leads.
Our interest and obsession with serial killers could be for most different reason weather that person is a genuine serial killer or one made-up by movie providers. The truth is that this infatuation is a little scary a person could be so interested with someone that has actually determined a offense and harmed another because they would like to end up like them and they committed a criminal offenses that they know they could not do. Alternatively those that are drawn to killers as a result of need to understand their attitude and know very well what drove them to such extremes, profilers that classify serial killers do this to get a serial killers and prevent it from happening, . Infatuation and affinity for serial killers will always be something the human mind does as a result of dependence on understanding.
