Each country has its way of buying education in the case of the federal government of Ecuador was invested in a new kind of universities called millennium academic institutions. This idea of fabricating academic institutions of the millennium surfaced in 2005 that Ecuador along with 147 other countries subscribed to the declaration of the millennium. The federal government of Rafael Correa inaugurated the first school of the millennium in the year 2008. With this new type of institutions it was considered to improve the imagination in Ecuadorian education and this to create a better future for Ecuador. Its goal was to improve the original form of education that the united states used. These millennium colleges are incredibly much criticized and are called white elephant, because they do not fulfill what's expected and cost a lot more money than a common college. Many people also think that it is unfair to get a lot of money in building just a few schools and the vast majority of schools remain the same, with inadequate infrastructure. The construction of the millennium schools is surrounded by many irregularities. One of these irregularities is its development. These universities have budgeted a price and in the end always cost some more than the initial price of structure. People in Ecuador are angry because they invest a lot in these institutions by themselves and there are very few colleges with proper infrastructure in Ecuador. For these reasons people feel that this project is not sustainable and does not help the development of Ecuador. These millennium academic institutions are just an work of populism of the federal government since it builds them hardly any. For the items written above is that many people say that the classes of the millennium are a white elephant that is determined to fail due to its high costs of construction and because it has the same educational system this is the rest of the schools in the country.

A very serious problem of these millennium schools is that they could end if the federal government of Rafael Correa comes out of vitality. With a new system of authorities the institutions of the millennium would be stagnant. The Ecuadorian federal government has many monetary problems due to the low price of oil.
