The USA is the land of racism. Regardless of how long it requires and no matter how far the government and social organizations make an effort to achieve equality among the list of races in the United States, it means little or nothing. Racism has been a major issue among the population in america for a long period of time, and it still occurs nowadays. There are a lot of men and women with all different types of pores and skin colors and cultural groups in the us, which are Native Americans, African Us citizens, Asian Americans, and Mexican Americans. In addition, the main widespread problem of racism in America is the white majority against ethnic categories, especially the dark-colored people.
It can be said that equality is the concept in which it does not exist by any means in the land of America. Racism in the United States is the unstoppable problem, and it could not solve until nowadays. It can also lead to many areas of problems such as education, career, and housing. There are lots of policies that make an effort to change things within the united states, but they are failed because they do not look at the real problem and absolutely cannot change people's thoughts. These are just forces for folks to like one another. Furthermore, there are several teams in America that make an effort to give the black people more opportunity and have a much better life in the States. They also demand racial equality in the culture. Two famous and important black leaders that stand for themselves and demand the rights for everyone black People in america are Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.
Martin Luther King and Malcolm X got a different background of their lives, plus they also grew up in a completely particular environment. Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, America. He originated from an appropriate middle-class family, experienced a high education, and was raised with the strong ideals of self-worth (Degnan-Veness, p. 2). Unlike Martin Luther King, Malcolm X was born on May 19, 1925 and originated from underprivileged home. He was just a little informed man and rose to the greatness on his own intelligence. Furthermore, he was raised with fear, anger, and bitterness because his family was demolished. His house was burnt by the Klu Klux Klan, a magic formula business of white men who hated African People in america, in which this painful situation resulted in the death of his father. Several years following the loss of life of his father, his mother suffered an emotional break down and then his family was separated. Malcolm X was required to live his expereince of living with the haunted nightmare that occurred from this situation, and he became hatred and wanted to take revenge (Biography of Malcolm X, 2001). This could probably say that Martin Luther Ruler savored his best life, especially the love of his parents whereas Malcolm X was a lonely man who suffered a great deal from being segregated and facing the bad situation because when he was young.
Martin Luther King and Malcolm X acquired an enormous impact on African Us citizens and became the icons of their culture. Nevertheless, both of these had a totally different attitude towards the White People in america. Martin Luther King experienced a positive thought and focused on the peaceful way of calling for African Us citizens rights as the viewpoint of Malcolm X into the White Us citizens was pessimistic, brutal, and violent including the most prefer to make contact with the globe that was cared for him pretty much unfairly.
In the past, people in America were treated unequally. The Blacks needed to be separated to the Whites. Some were pressured to use independent all black classes, stores, restaurants, water fountains, entrances of hospital, etc. Furthermore, some parts of the State governments, the blacks possessed no right or were denied to vote (Struggle for Equality: Insurance quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr. , 2011). Therefore, it made the black people need to have equality and the rights like the white people. This led to the beginning of civil rights motion, and Martin Luther King was one of all market leaders that made the improvement about this.
Martin Luther King was an idealistic person and got the frame of mind in terms of peace and non-violence on the White Americans. He presumed that peaceful quarrels and presentations would led the African Americans achieve the equality also to be accepted in the population like the White People in america someday. He also assumed that the Blacks and the Whites could be united and lived together in conditions of peace. "King was basically a peaceful leader who urged non-violence to his fans. He travelled about the country providing speeches that inspired black and white listeners to work together for racial harmony. " (Patterson, p. 135) In addition, Martin Luther King was a Baptist minister dad and a college teacher mother, and then he became the voice of the activity which read by millions of people about the world. His civil protection under the law movement in this article will be divided into early civil protection under the law movement and later part of the civil rights activity.
The first step of the change between your Black Us citizens and the White Us citizens by Martin Luther King started in December 1955 in Montgomery. In those days, there was segregation on city buses in which the Blacks had to provide chairs to the Whites, and they could not remain in the same row. Many black people were angry and didn't satisfied, nevertheless they could do nothing. Moreover, they wished to begin a boycott in Montgomery. Rosa Parks, a forty-year-old black woman, made Martin Luther Ruler see the civil rights motion enter into action. She was obligated to give the chair to the white passenger by the driver, however, she refused it. Therefore, the drivers called the police, and she was imprisoned by them. Later, Martin Luther King took charge of the situation to call for African Americans privileges cooperated by Nixon, the NAACP worker, Abernathy, and Rosa Parks and resulted in the boycott of the Montgomery city buses (Cozzens, 1997). On December 5, 50, 000 boycotters spoke with the feet "We will not ride on segregated buses again!" (Degnan-Veness, p. 10) This made the Bus Company and white politicians angry and wished to destroy the boycott because they lost money. Nevertheless, the marches still continuing. Martin Luther King became the first choice of this civil rights plan, and he and his supporters would not fight to the Whites even though they tried so difficult to battle them with assault. For instance, the Klu Klux Klan bombed Martin Luther King's home. This made a lot of dark people in front of his house mad and wanted to strike the Whites, but Martin Luther Ruler bravely informed them "I want you to go home. We must love our white brothers We should meet hate with love. " (Degnan-Veness, p. 13) This may prove that Martin Luther King resisted by himself peaceful way from the Whites. This protest required about 382 days to conquer, and the US government passed a new law where the segregation on buses in every states was illegal. Following this Montgomery Bus Boycott ended, Martin Luther Ruler gave speeches all over the country, and he was ready for another deal with that was voting rights for those African Americans in which the ideas of protest was encouraged by Mahatma Gandhi. He required President Eisenhower to help African Us citizens in the south because they were segregated and acquired no privileges to vote by requesting the help from Richard Nixon, the closet man to the President. However, it changed little or nothing. Therefore, in 1957, he sorted out SCLC (Southern Religious Leadership Meeting) with 115 dark-colored market leaders in Montgomery to help African People in america get the rights to vote. Martin Luther Ruler also said "The SCLC is church-orientated as a result of very composition of the Negro community in the South. " (Trueman, 2000) This also resulted in the dark students protest who were prohibited from general public places such as restaurant, bar, and pool. Martin Luther King signed up with with them and was caught. However, he was helped by John F. Kennedy to be free.
After all situations from above, these became another student protest in 1961 that was called "Freedom Rides". Protesters weren't the Blacks only but also some of the Whites, plus they were hurt badly from the violent actions of the Klu Klux Klan. Martin Luther Ruler was worried about it and asked the assistance from JFK's brother, Robert Kennedy. Finally, the protesters come to their goal, and segregation in bus stations in the South concluded by the request of Robert Kennedy at Interstate Business Payment (Cozzens, 1997). Next, Martin Luther King wanted to take his marketing campaign in Birmingham, Alabama where ruling dark-colored human population by fear. He was the top enemy to the city's authorities chief, Eugene "Bull" Connor, who hated dark people and their civil protection under the law plan. When people, including children, marched for integration demand, Connor took most of them in prison with violent method such as dogs and normal water (A Issue in Dark colored and White, 2011). Later, as a result of Alabama state court directed a letter to Martin Luther Ruler in 1963 that black demonstration was illegal; he was imprisoned again after he declared in public areas "The court will not stop me" (Degnan-Veness, p. 23). Therefore, he made a decision to write a letter from Birmingham prison, which letter made city market leaders decided to unite bathrooms, drinking water machines, lunch pubs, and employed more dark-colored people. This Birmingham protest altered the nation by Chief executive John F. Kennedy suggested a costs that outlawed racial discrimination. People, dark People in the usa and white People in america, marched collectively to Washington in 1963 to aid this bill of protection under the law and demand jobs and flexibility. Martin Luther King also provided a talk "I have a goal", and it was about for any People in the usa to be similar regardless of what color skin they may have just a heart and mind of person were important. He was one of history's presenter, important icon of civil privileges movement, and acquired the Nobel Prize in 1964 for his non-violent protest to get rid of racial discrimination and prejudice (Martin Luther King and the Movement, 2000).
Unlike Martin Luther King, Malcolm X got a strongly negative to the White Americans because his life and his family were treated unfairly and brutally. From developing a hopeless life, he wished to change and fight for everyone African Americans by using violent method towards Whites. He believed that only though revolution and make that will make black people receive the right place, and he'd do any necessary means to achieve equality. For example, he motivated his followers giving speeches to make them rise up and fight against their white enemies. This may be said that his speeches came from and based on his brutal life that experienced a poor though on the Whites since he was young. The motion of Malcolm X will be divided into three parts which can be Pre-Nation of Islam period, Land of Islam period, and Post-Nation of Islam period.
Malcolm X was brought up in a violent atmosphere. He was experienced not only from misuse by the Whites, but also from home violence. His dad abused his mom, and both of them abused their children, including him. He could not desire, go to college with the Whites, and was looking down by the Whites. After his family was split up from the getting rid of house by the Klu Klux Klan, he flipped from a good guy to an awful man. His fantasy was to be a law firm, but he was advised from his professor that it was no sensible goal for a nigger. Therefore, he decreased out from college and lived his life with no vacation spot. He also resided his life without fear and used every kind of drugs. He performed several odd careers to earn money by himself in Boston, Massachusetts, and then relocated to Harlem, NY where he devoted crimes. For instance, he formed a residence of robbing gang and gaming rings. This led him go to jail for seven years (Biography of Malcolm X, 2001).
For seven years in the jail, he used this opportunity to change himself to a fresh man. He gained the data and educated himself. Furthermore, during in the prison, he was bias to Religious because he thought that Christian was a tool of the White Americans to keep the Blacks down. Therefore, this led him want to get the suitable religious beliefs for dark people and then he joined the Nation of Islam, the African american Muslim Activity. The opinion of Islam was the Dark colored Pride and Black colored Nationalism. Later, he adopted the name of Malcolm X. Within a brief period of your energy, Malcolm X became the key spokesperson for the leader which was Elijah Muhammad (Smith, 2005). The goal of Nation of Islam was not integration, and it wanted the Blacks to determine their own schools, churches, and support network (Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam, 2008). Furthermore, he promoted that he was so pleased with being dark. His personal dedication made the Nation of Islam worldwide. He devoted himself in the country of Islam for 12 years. He preached that the white man was the devil and the "Honorable Elijah Muhammad" was God's messenger. As a result, "Malcolm X suggested a separatist and nationalist strategy for black success, " (Clarke, p. 57) Additionally, he gave the speech, "Definition of a Revolution", in 1963 which openly justified assault as a way to gain equality. "And if it is right for America to draft us and coach us how to be violent in defense of the united states, then isn't it befitting you and me to do whatever is necessary to defend our very own people right here in this country, " (Clarke, p. 253). He firmly rose in the African People in the usa to fight against the White People in the usa though revolution. "Revolution is bloody, revolution is hostile, revolution is aware no compromise, revolution overturns and destroys exactly what gets in its way, " (Clarke, p. 255) Malcolm X became extremely popular, and the jealous time became while he was the member of Land of Islam. He observed the rumor that Elijah Muhammad had children with women in the business, so in 1964 he announced that he was departing the Nation of Islam (Nosotro, 2003).
After he remaining the country of Islam, he recognized that he was taught in incorrect way. He create a new company by himself, which was called the Muslim Mosque. He also made a pilgrimage to Mecca. He found Afro-American Unity, including everyone of African descent in the Western hemisphere. It made the tensions between himself and the country of Islam increased further, to the point where the Nation of Islam command were asserted to obtain directly bought the assassination of Malcolm and his family. This group made an additional step of violence and offered as a politics try to unite black cause in America, built ties to African community, and had a need to unite with civil rights movement to move forward the Blacks in the us to a global level (Malcolm X Biography, n. d. ). Unluckily, he was murdered, which means this legacy did not get much attention.
