Americans experienced many economical, social, and political challenges in the post-Civil War time. I have recognized one of each of these types of problems that I really believe were one of the most important during the period of 1865-1900. The economic issue that I imagine had one of the primary impacts on Americans at that time is the Great Railroad Affect of 1877. The interpersonal issue i feel considerably affected America after the Civil War can be Chinese migration. One of the biggest personal issues, in my opinion, is the Populist Party.
I feel that the Great Railroad Strike of 1887 was a major issue because it made People in the usa realize exactly how deeply People in america were invested in the railroads. At the time, the most important investment banking firm in the us, Jay Cooke and Firm, was pouring a excessive amount of depositors' funds into the railroads. When Cooke's firm failed, a big percentage of the country was thrown in a frenzy; but the most effected were the railroads, when it comes to 10% income cuts, mistrust of capitalists and poor working circumstances. The railroads' shortcomings gone far from unnoticed by the staff, leading to many strikes, which in turn prevented a large number of trains motionless. Trains were the main way of shipping nearly every goods, which will meant that whatever needed to be delivered either arrived late in addition to smaller volumes, or was never received at all. The federal government soon became frustrated and sent in militia units to bring back order, however the men refused to use pressure against the workers. Then the governors sent out regiments of the National Guard, who had been attacked by simply citizens as they marched down the roads. These riots caused several deaths and more injuries. After on the month of consistent rioting the president, Rutherford B. Hayes, sent in fed...
... members freely spoke about the need of poor whites and poor blacks to set besides racial indifferences and to combine in their struggle.
It is crystal clear that Us citizens were in the hand of many issues following your Civil War, but Personally i think as if these were of the most crucial. The Great Train Strike demonstrated just how embedded to train was in American civilization and how hard they will could fall with a mishap amongst the railroad system. The immigration of the Chinese and the most of America's protest proven that no matter what any paperwork might have mentioned following the City War, America was still struggling to cope with the thought of racial incorporation. And finally, the Populist Party showed the Republicans and Democrats that not only perform they certainly not cover all of the important concerns in American society, but that residents that understood what would have to be done may oppose the main parties.
