These skills are also sometimes known as central competencies or common skills which can be demanded by employers today and which in the end cause you to more employable. These are the basic skills that help you get, keep and prosper on a job. They help employees in every part of the jobs, whether it's personal or social. Unlike technical skills employability skills are common in character and are essential for the success of most types of careers from admittance to level the senior most positions.

Employability skills categories:

The employability skills recognized by different analysts vary significantly in the way they are established. One research group named 36 skills and attributes in eight categories known as SCANS (Secretary's Payment on Achieving Necessary Skills); another programmer discovered 76 different skills in a couple of nine categories (Silk cotton, 1993). Poole & Zahn (1993) also recognized 9 tips to employability.

Basic academics skills remain needed for high job performance. This group of skills includes:

Communication Skills: written, verbal and non-verbal skills

Reading skills: understanding, interpreting written data.

Listening: understanding and examining information.

Information related skills: Proper use of IT while controlling information.

Numeracy skills: mathematical skills, ability to handle money.

Higher Order Skills:

These skills are believed more important to job success by employers. The ability to think, examine, apply logic, and make acoustics decisions is essential for employees who want to prosper on jobs.

They include,

Problem Resolving: identifying, studying and resolving problems

Risk management skills: Predict and mitigate dangers.

Learning skills: capability to memorize and learn.

Decision making skills: Designate goals, generate alternatives and chose the best ones.

Personal Skills:

Time management: Punctuality, Interacting with deadlines

Self management: Emotional Quotient, stress management, do it yourself awareness, Self improvement, Modification, adaptability, Responsibility for my activities.

Ability to comprehend Work Ethics: Honesty, Commitment.

SELF Analysis:

It is important to have the ability to analyze strengths as well as the areas that need to be developed to enable you to identify the opportunities and potential hazards. Assessing ones employability skills is vital for just two reasons: To Confirm your skills and to Improve them.

This includes two activities; first I have to record my talents (general skills that I've) and weaknesses (skills that we lack); Second, I have to examine opportunities (can I develop these skills overtime?) and dangers (what exactly are the potential hazards in taking up opportunities?).

In order to raised understand my talents and weakness, I've considered a few personal assessment checks. By examining the results of these lab tests as well as my personal experience, I have summarized my advantages and weaknesses as below.

Strengths:

My Basic Skills:

My education. My interest available increases my strength. A lot of people lack interest in their domains because they chose it arbitrarily or anticipated to external factors, but I have passion for this subject and will definitely enjoy my professional career in this field.

I can read, write and speak multiple languages. I believe I've good non verbal communication skills. I've an expressive and at exactly the same time controlled body gestures.

Reading Skills. I can certainly track down understand and interpret written information.

Information handling skills. I can gather, understand, organize, and disseminate information using information systems.

My analytical Skills:

I have great risk management skills. I make an effort to predict, analyze and mitigate potential risks before they do any damage. This is something I exercise in everyday activities.

I have razor-sharp learning skills. I make an effort to improve my ram by daily exercises for example, by thinking about what I learned today prior to going to rest or talking to a friend about it etc.

I stay targeted towards my goals. When I have a responsibility, I really believe in excellence even if its requires a lot of effort.

I believe in my own self-worth and have a positive view of myself.

High emotional quotient. After taking the diagnosis testing, I consider my home as emotionally stable. I understand my feelings and can control them

I consider myself as Adaptable, adaptable in different personal and professional surroundings.

Strong will power and commitment to might work.

My interpersonal Skills:

I understand the positioning differences and have the capability to take orders without having to be defensive.

Good contacts and networking due to the fact of extra curricular activities.

Weaknesses:

Basic Weaknesses:

Shy while presenting presentations.

Lack expertise in some areas of IT.

Not a specialist in mathematical research.

Bad being attentive skills.

Personal Weaknesses:

Bad time management. I set too demanding targets and then have problems getting together with deadlines or otherwise do not get time to examine.

I find it hard to work under pressure or tight guidance.

I avoid taking responsibilities.

I am not self determined. I give more choice to understanding than to sense of accomplishment.

Analytical Weaknesses:

I don't see my do it yourself as creative. I like following a systematic method for things and steer clear of taking risks by discovering innovative ideas.

Impatient while taking decisions. At times it demonstrates to be my strength however in some situations it ends in bad results.

Interpersonal Weaknesses:

I like working singularly than in communities, maybe it is because I think it is hard to give orders.

Lack of command skills. In the sense that we find it difficult to take control of things.

Opportunities:

Take less work home. Complete assignments in class.

Getting more free time to engage in extra activities like socializing and making strong relationships with educators.

ACTION PLAN:

Krahn, Lowe & Lehmann (2002), in their research found out that a lot of people see institution as the most likely site for the development of basic and analytical/thinking skills. It is possible to learn and develop a few of the generic and personal skills along the way of advanced schooling (Bradshaw, 1985).

After my SWOT analysis, I have made an action plan to develop the abilities i lack, by establishing SMART aims. These can be expanded as;

Volunteer for showing tasks throughout the semester and getting regular reviews from fellow students and supervisors.

When faced with making important choices, I will note down pros and cons for every option and its affects on other things.

Acquiring Personal Skills:

In order to improve time management. Establish reminders on my mobile phone for each and every small task. Set short deadlines for myself to be able to complete the allocated work before time, so that I can also review it.
