Concepts of change management

Understanding change management is vital for successful information systems development and execution in the 21st century

In this project work I would like to provide the features and concepts of change management and the effect caused in an organisation in the 21st hundred years. I am describing this through by a business Infosys Technologies in which I performed after completing my bachelors. After knowing the idea of change management through the lecture and seminar periods, I can say that the change management is very important as I can compare the idea of change management and it is very helpful in developing the organisation.

Introduction to my Company:

Infosys Technologies Small was were only available in 1981. Today our company is an internationally leader of IT and consulting with Overton of over US$ 4 billion.

Infosys is described a offers and design technology which allowed business solutions. Infosys also offers a complete selection of services with leading technology providers. Infosys is Indian based company which is at the very best ten business companies. They are simply a wide range of clients from different areas as financial, complex, Software and many more.

They offer different services they are application services, product executive, maintenance, screening and validation services, etc. They use Global Delivery Model which is based on the rule of choosing the task place where in fact the talent is best available, where they have least amount of risk and best economical sense. Infosys believe in developing the trust with the communities where they operate to attain for long period as a company.

As soon as I completed my B. Technology in neuro-scientific Computer science I signed up with in the courses like Unix and. Net. These training where completed in about half a year of your time and I went to the certification exams for these training as well. After conclusion of course exams I requested job interviews and i quickly got into the corporation called Infosys as a tech support team. Then I acquired training in communication skills as it is very necessary for the job requirement.

Here in the business the person who's responsible for every facet of the task is manager. The director should evade all the issues that come within the project and he can get the successful end result from the given resources. In a very project it is not only the resources that are essential but also the technology to be able to perform successful firm.

Some of the transformational changes are taken by the older manager thus that will be useful in expanding the project lifecycle. As the organization wishes to make changes so we can change from mature management to a transformational leader. Employees were employed who've good skills, communication skills and also who have quality to enter the project development team. Through the training times the professionals will be looking at the employee's skills and improvement. After couple of weeks when there is a notable difference in their performance the worker may be taken off the task and again will be placed through training period.

Definition of Change Management:

The name Change management itself derives as controlling the change. Change management is derived as the procedure, equipment and techniques that are being used to manage the change processes of people part. Change management is very important in this competitive world as in every company or company change occurs sooner or later this may take place due to improve in technology, working conditions, to attain the required outputs, or to compete the rivals etc. , By this we can say that change management is vital for a efficiently operating company or company.

The degrees of changes in the Change Management. They are

  1. Alpha Change
  2. Beta Change
  3. Gamma Change
    1. Alpha Change:

Alpha change is a gradual incremental planned approach that emerge for a short while and which targets a particular point within an company or company. Alpha change assists with identifying the target and delivers the required change.

When i used to be working in a business or organization i had a short time change where i was working on UNIX and on the other hand we'd an another project which was predicated on JAVA has been around pending and the deadline was about to come. So, our project manager has allocated some of our project customers to the JAVA job. So we'd three time of JAVA training every day and worked hard to finish the project with time. We were successful in delivering the project on time. There is no difficulty in this type of change but the employees must be emotionally prepared.

    1. Beta Change:

Beta change is a continuous incremental emergent procedure which develops on the period of time to make the complete change in the organisation. This change is a well planned change.

    1. Gamma Change:

Gamma change is only a transformational and full attempt to make a change in the company. This is a higher range change. Gamma change will involve high risk when compared to alpha and beta change. In such a change we cannot expect the productivity.

Lewin's Style of Change:

This model includes three phases. They are

  1. Unfreezing
  2. Changing or Movement
  3. Refreeze

Unfreezing is the change where they violate down active means of doing things, discarding the conventional methods and behaviours patterns and introducing a fresh methods and behaviours. Education, communication, taking part in decision making etc. . , is a few of the techniques used for unfreezing.

Changing or Movements:

Change or movement is the change where they move into the proposed change, where they learn new methodologies. This is the change where problems occur and they deal with it proficiently it is a time of path and problem.

Refreezing is making the change permanent. It's the final stage where new ideas become habitual, which includes developing new concepts and building new interpersonal romantic relationships.

Every company or organisation has a technique. The main duty of the strategy is to find out the advantages and weakness of the business and finding the several solutions. For inspection we've three main models. They are

  1. SWOT Analysis
  2. Infestations Analysis
  3. System Model

SWOT Analysis:

SWOT Analysis was the main evaluation for our company. SWOT is abbreviated as talents, weaknesses, opportunities and hazards.

In our company the main Talents were good team management, brand, staff, market position, financial position, services and growing. The weakness of our company was sales channels, lack of new technologies and competitive vulnerability. The opportunities of our own company were new complimentary market, strategic alliances like money, sales, products, market position for development and the key threats of the company were the current economic climate, lose of key personnel, cash flow, slipping sales, decreasing profits etc. .

By the SWOT examination we came to learn about the company's Strenghts, weakness, opportunities and hazards which helped in bettering the company's weak points and focus on it more.

Pest Examination:

PEST Examination is abbreviated as Political, Economical, Sociocultural And Technology factors.

Political Factors:

The political composition of India is secure but there is a hung parliament dread its because of the parliaments unclear bulk, the client projections and the terrorists problems, the govt. Position on marketing. The federal government decides whether to provide more IT works or not.

Economical Factors:

The inexpensive factors consist of overall economy rates, the worker degree of per capita. In '09 2009 our company IT home spending of It really is raised by more ratio. The rentals has been decreased anticipated to real house decline.

Sociocultural Factor:

The sociocultural factors by the term itself derives as the communal and cultural. Social and ethnic always change from country to country as it is determined by different criteria's like the site religion, words, customer time, inhabitants, strong and poor thoughts etc. . .

Technological factors:

Technology plays a vital role in competitive advantages and it is important of globalization. In our company the scientific factors are it uses the reduced cost technologies and modernization obstacle and opportunities.

System Model:

The seven s model can be used to learn about the business and its accuracy and reliability. It mainly has seven elements they are

  1. Style
  2. Skills
  3. Systems
  4. Strategy
  5. Structure
  6. Shared Values
  7. Staff

From the Above diagram we can easily see all the seven-s are connected to one another. So if there is any change in one element it result all the other elements. Here the first three elements i. e. . , the strategy, structure and the systems will be the hardware of the organization and rest of all elements are the software of the business.

After completion of investigation we now have an obvious idea to create some aims which are used for putting into action the change. They are really by training the employees in new technology, by keeping the goals for the projects singularly and motivating the employees by creating the small amount of time wins through the change effort and by planning a gather for the successes and putting in all the new technology in to the system.

Enable is recognized as the planning level for applying the changes and allocate the recourses. It is vital for every business or a company to know the various phases because if indeed they find any mistake we can overcome them easily. These are mainly four phases. They are

    1. Exploration Phase
    2. Planning Phase
    3. Action phase
    4. Integration phase

Exploration Phase:

In this stage company are consults for better implementations of the modify. There are different types of consultancy. Schein (1987) advises three important types of appointment. They are

  1. Expert Model
  2. Doctor Patient Model
  3. Process Assessment Model

Expert Model:

In expert model if a problem develops the model organisation recognizes its problem and the consultancy is the expert which gives solution to the business. Corresponding to E H Schein (1985) the boundary of responsibilities are clearly determined boundary and are highly specific. The sort of jobs the expert model can be applied on technological or task concern and the prognosis is done by consumer assumption as the client is right and the consultants do whichever the client inform them.

Doctor Patient Model:

In doctor patient model the consultant serves as a doctor and the business as the patient. In this model consultancy detect the challenge which arise in an organisation and tells the perfect solution is to the company and the organisation is dependable for applying the answer whether to use the solution or to find an other solution nevertheless they have to monitor on the perfect solution is which was distributed by the consultancy. Corresponding to E H Schein (1985) the margins of activity is quite specific but with the actual development depending on the particular result is and the tasks that happen to be done by doctor patient model is generally connected with human organizations.

Process consultancy model the main element role is in between the consultant and the clients trust. The specialist identifies the challenge in the organization and gives the perfect solution is. In this technique we unfreeze the system and then mount the new change and when the change is installed effectively then we must refreeze the system. Matching to E H Schein (1985) process consultancy model has an extremely wide potential boundaries and although the consultant comes out with a new problem solution methods this is resolved in joined up with way. The result is very much in charge on both advisor and consumer so they need to have a high level of trust between them.

Planned Period:

After the problem is resolved the execution of the change should be prepared. Within this planned stage the expert performs an important role in the program of change. In this phase we will know very well what are the step[s in planning ? And what are the stages involved with planning? The consultant will help the company in every single phase as though they'll not be able to solve the problem then they should go for the help of experts.

Action Stage:

Only experts are meant to do the actions. They'll be involved from the very first stage till the finish stage.

Integration Period:

The last phase is the integration phase. Each and every company have their own requirements which is fulfilled in the implementation of the prepared and action phases and then your employees begins their focus on their tasks. The employees will be given targets to attain both separately and group sensible.

Action is the change which is done by people only the position of the individual can vary greatly from period to step. The team leader plays the key role as he's one who books the team members.

I found each one of these changes in the management after i worked in the company but then I could not realise what exactly it was. But after approaching here for Masters and learning about Change management and systems implementation I came to know that change within an organization plays a vital role. Change isn't just needed for the organization but also individually as individually it can help in making an effective life ahead. Change takes time but later it gives successful results that are desired. Finally it is important for the organization to stride up with business needs and also to also conquer the competition.
