Comparing two poems - Binsey Poplar by Hopkins and I came lonely Composition

Assessing two poetry - Binsey Poplar by simply Hopkins and i also wandered unhappy

as a cloud' by Wordsworth.

Compare the two poems and comment on:

- The overall emotions of the poem

- How they use vocabulary effectively

- What the poetry suggest regarding the personas of the writers.

The two poems 'Binsey Poplars' by Hopkins and 'I wandered unhappy as a

cloud' by Wordsworth both consist of very strong, emotive feelings.

Yet , the feelings that they contain are incredibly different.

The 'Binsey Poplars' poem comes with an overall a sense of anger. Hopkins is

honestly enraged by removal of the trees which can be clearly noticed in

the poem as it strains the immediate shock that Hopkins encounters as

he sees his trees have gone. There is also a great feeling of misery

as Hopkinshas clearly misplaced something this individual cared for.

'My aspens dear'

The starting word of 'my' lets us know that Hopkins thinks of the trees as

his very own which display his look after them and the attention he or she must have

offered them. These people were clearly very important to him which usually explains his

protectiveness above them and in addition why he used the 'my' and 'dear.

Alternatively, the Wordsworth poem is far more joyful. It includes an

general feeling of pleasure which is noticed from the expression 'dance'. This kind of

word is repeated in each and every stanza from the poem to continually point out to the

target audience of the joyous feeling over the poem. The poem as well comes

around as happy-go-lucky which can be found by the explanation of the

joyeux mood the writer is in:

'on my sofa I lie in a empty or in pensive mood'

Wordsworth creates that he 'lies' in the couch it immediately displays the

quiet and calm state he's in. There exists then confirmation on his

carefree state of mind if he describes himself in a 'vacant or...

... rates the amount of plants too

as the truth that the daffodils are 'stretched in limitless line'

The 'Binsey Poplars' poem is made up of a lot of anger and rage, this kind of

reflects on the writer, Hopkins. Therefore , from this composition we can see that

the character of Hopkins can be extremely hot-tempered and vengeful.

Nevertheless , the fact that he acted in this very angry fashion signifies that he

maintained the woods very much and for that reason we see a loving and caring

part to Hopkins. On the other hand, Wordsworth does not present any anger

in his composition but only positive thoughts such as joy and fulfillment.

In conclusion, you observe that the two poems change greatly in the

feelings they will project through mood and literacy products. However , the

poems carry out have one part of common because they the two portray precisely the same

sentient or worry over crops that the creators clearly proper care a lot
