It may be difficult for the younger generations to comprehend the idea of splendour, and the uncertainty our region once faced in its work to end the intolerant treatment of our many other Americans. A part of this is due to the substantial strides the country has taken considering that the Civil Privileges Act of 1964 required effect nearly 50 years ago.
