Values are expectations and principals where we live our lives. These requirements are many and frequently be based upon people`s background e. g. Culture, course, religion, gender, age group. Values are really individual attitudes that immediate people`s reactions to the planet around them. Amongst some of the values I live my life by and respect are personal privacy allowing me to get space to myself and respecting the fact that others may desire privacy, to be safe and also allowing others the same, having self respect, being reputable, being non judgmental, being anti discriminatory, respect life and trust, value flexibility and equality, value choice and others items of view. I have learned to have my entire life this way from my parents and their families. The academic institutions and chapel where I used to be taught, espoused the prices of human dignity, solidarity for the normal good, charity, and the family, all of which I continue steadily to maintain dear. I therefore make an effort to ensure that we treat people just how I'd like to be treated. Due to these principles, I am in a position to work gladly alongside the organization I volunteer for, as their policies and procedures represent many of these common beliefs. We ensure the to dignity, choice, admiration, privacy, and protection. I have to consider my clients beliefs and preferences.
I currently volunteer as a Befriender for a group that helps men and women with learning disabilities become included within the city through socialization, by coordinating Befriendees with supportive Befrienders. I, as a volunteer because of this firm, provide their service individuals with the chance to have a full and satisfying part in their community. I also help to raise knowing of issues affecting adults with learning troubles in community participation.

I have to ensure that information is presented securely in a locked processing pantry. Any information I write in an activity plan must be truthful, factual, and appropriate with my ideas to be objective.
Choice means presenting and explaining different alternatives to individuals. I support our service users by stimulating their right to choose. By offering they limited options that will cause them to become check out positive alternatives inside a safe environment.
Safety means that I have to ensure my service individual when in my care, is covered from injury and abuse. If I suspect or discover that harm and mistreatment has or is taking place, against a service user, I must report the incident in an Event Statement Form within 36 hrs of the instance to my line director. I also complete a risk examination form before any activity.
Realising Potential ensures that I must allow my service users the opportunity to aim to achieve things great and small of their abilities.

Giving People with Learning Disabilities too many selections can cause confusion and sometimes fear. So I give limited positive options to ensure that this will not happen.

He also recommended these needs must be attained in order.
Prejudice as (Ref3) described in the Collins dictionary "can be an unreasonable dislike of a specific group of men and women or things, or a preference for a one group of folks or things over another". Prejudice is the effect of a lack of understanding of something, causing the incorrect impression to be created. (Ref4)The Functionalist perspectives declare that society can be likened to our body, with different organs (corporations) having different functions yet all working alongside one another to keep your body (population) alive. The negative aspects of discrimination based on the functionalists declare that it exacerbates poverty and offense, that society fails to use the resources of all individuals, discourages good will, and discourage the resolution of disputes. These negative aspects can provide jobs by having to employ police officers, justice system, and civil servants. Although not to be motivated, the functionalists state that the positive aspects of prejudice keep people in their proper place within society and discourage them from questioning their place within modern culture. The functionalists assume that it is normal for just one group to be more advanced than the other, that contemporary society is unequal and competition within modern culture is natural. Discrimination happens when one group does not want to have another group change their place roles. Changes in the economy can easily see prejudice impacting on those in poverty because other categories may feel that the power system budget has been abused by those who are out of work. Prejudice can be seen in my consumer group, that includes a distinct need of the power system. Working with people who have learning disabilities shows me that prejudice arises amongst a number of the neighborhood community.
This is a tiny section of the city pre- judging people that have learning disabilities through lack of knowledge and so they hold unfavourable views or thoughts towards folks who are different and so bullying may take place. Parents with learning disabilities are a portion of society that is inclined not to be able to stand up for themselves.

I took part in training to attempt to educate youths from the local secondary school about
Learning Disabilities. This resulted in them becoming peer volunteers to younger children with Learning Disabilities from the local university for autistic children. A group was create to bring these two groups of youngsters together, with positive results.
(Ref 5) Individuals with Learning Disabilities are more likely to develop health problems. Therefore, without support, they might not exactly be able to make their feelings known therefore screening and or treatment may be rejected. The necessity for support to allow them to lead as normal a life as their skills allow and to access services, has a financial cost to contemporary society.
The belief that individuals with learning disabilities, are a financial burden to contemporary society, and not providing relevant support is proof discrimination. Their ill health has my consumer group men and women with learning disabilities relying on benefits. Therefore, having the ability to spend the money for use of transfer and taking part in social activities are reduced for many who are on benefits. This is more evident in those with learning disabilities in rural areas. They can be socially excluded and marginalized, through the lack of affordable and regular carry services.
The likelihood of employment because of this group of folks are rare as most don't have the capacity to engage in work and so they will continue steadily to live on benefits. Psychologically that can lead to depression, low self applied- esteem, aggravation, or anger. Creating their behavior to be influenced, by them becoming withdrawn or violent.

EASILY am uneasy about the practice of others within the organization or within any other agency I come into contact with, I must are accountable to my line manager and seek advice. My manager has a responsibility to produce these policies and procedures ensuring they include current legislation. Management means that staff and service users have easy access to them. Discourse and representation of policies and methods to ensure they are justified and explained to staff is encouraged. I receive extended training, support, and supervision and take part in partnership dealing with relevant organizations.
